Ben Chilwell was named on the bench for Chelsea's Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Sunday.

The left-back, who is vice-captain of the club, was left out of the starting XI by Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino named Conor Gallagher as captain for the clash at the Vitality Stadium.

There was also no Moises Caicdeo in the matchday squad following his international involvement with Ecuador.

Meanwhile, there was a first Premier League for Lesley Ugochukwu, who joined from Rennes in the summer.

Pochettino had to fill out the Chelsea bench with a number of academy players after admitting prior to the game that he only had '14 or 15 players' available to him.

He said: "With the circumstances, of course, I think it is better for us because we have 11 or 12 players injured.

“And I think it’s very short, the squad at the moment. I think we are going to play against Bournemouth with 14 or 15 players. I think it's important that we can recover the players and be competitive.”
