Online trolls started complaining that the country singer had put on weight when she won the title of American Idol in 2005.
Although she was aware that what other people thought shouldn’t matter, she was nevertheless fatigued from eating quesadillas and spaghetti all the time. This led her to routinely buy apparel that was one size bigger.
Underwood was openly dissatisfied with her looks. She admitted to PEOPLE in a 2015 cover story that “I realized that I weighed more than I had ever weighed before.”
People began admiring the “Good Girl” singer and saying how fantastic she looked as soon as she started losing weight, she explained. “You then begin to question, “How horrible did I look before?” After that, you think, “Well, I guess I should keep going.” you start eating less after that, “Underwood carried on.
She also acknowledged using weight loss supplements and making poor decisions in the past while attempting to lose weight.
The singer admitted,
“I was taking items with ephedra in them. “The method wasn’t the best. Here’s how you do it the right way, I would say to myself if I could go back in time and speak to myself.”
Soon after, Underwood began keeping track of her elliptical workouts, checking nutrition labels, and counting calories. In fact, she occasionally only consumed 800 calories. She initially had a great time and lost a few pounds, but the strategy failed.
In an interview with Women’s Health published in March 2020, Underwood stated, “I would ‘fall off the wagon,’ then feel terrible and repeat the cycle. The message from your body is, “I need more calories and carbs!”
Fortunately, she soon discovered that all she really needed to set effective boundaries for her weight loss was the knowledge to do so.
One and a half decades later, the singer is still in excellent shape thanks to her customized diet and exercise routine. She is doing everything right.

Underwood, a proud wife, and mother of two sons, works out every day at her home gym whenever she has time. In 2020, she even launched Fit52, a workout software that offers quick and efficient workout regimens.
In a December 2021 interview with Shape, Underwood mentioned that she liked to use her limited free time for circuit training, weight lifting, and running. But in all honesty, she continued, “At this point in my life, I do whatever I have time for.
The singer also enjoys the sports drink BODYARMOR, which she partners with and uses as part of her workout routine to stay hydrated throughout those long days.
She has been a vegan for many years, and her typical breakfast consists of tofu or egg-white scramble, Ezekiel toast, fruit, and coffee. Lunch usually consists of a Tofurky sandwich with red onions, spinach, tomatoes, avocados, and mustard.
She also makes roasted chicken and veggies with tofu for dinner.
