Lil’ Wayne has been all over the headlines over the last month and a half, probably starting with the photo of him and Donald Trump. In case you missed it, Lil’ Wayne took a couple of pictures with the president of the United States earlier in the year amid the administration’s news that they were working on a new program for black Americans.
Fast forward to today, and fans of Lil’ Wayne are discussing the recent story surrounding the rapper’s master recordings which he reportedly sold for over one hundred million.
This all comes after the reports from earlier in the week which revealed his former manager had sued him for $20 million. Forbes Magazine previously claimed Sweeney had played a crucial role in Wayne’s negotiations with Cash Money Records and Birdman, leading to the rapper being able to own his masters and also release his record, Tha Carter V, which had been postponed for years.
Sweeney was fired in 2018, and the manager has argued that he is owed a substantial amount of money for the work he put into the negotiations. Sweeney alleged in his new lawsuit that Wayne sold the masters to Universal Music Group in June of this year.

Social media has questioned whether Lil’ Wayne was morally consistent, considering he wound up selling something that he worked so hard for.
For instance, one fan wrote that Wayne’s back-catalog was worth a lot more than $100,000,000, and he shouldn’t have sold them for that amount. Others have stated that it’s nobody else’s business except for Lil’ Wayne, considering he owned the rights to the music, and could do whatever he liked with it.

A certain pocket of social media users has argued that Birdman never should’ve given them up at all. This all comes after the news that Wayne had pled guilty to a serious gun charge.
