Royal Family: The 'secret' swimming pool Kate Middleton, Prince William and the kids will be cooling

One thing you may be wondering as the mercury goes through the roof this weekend is where on earth will the young Royals be going to take a dip to cool off? It's now not always easy to know where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their young family will be spending family time.

There are various options open to them of course. One might be the swimming pool that's hidden inside Buckingham Palace that apparently the family like to use. Prince William and Harry both learned to swim in the pool and more recently Prince Louis and George and Princess Charlotte have also had their swimming lessons there.

Other spots to cool off might include a trip to the beach, including one spot that has been beloved of the Royals for generations - Holkolm in Norfolk. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge like the beach so much they selected it to appear in a video shot for their tenth wedding anniversary last year.

But there's a much more obvious but less known spot for a family dip. At Anmer Hall, the Duke and Duchess's country residence in Norfolk, there is reportedly a "secret" swimming pool where the Royals can splash.

The Georgian hall was originally built in 1802 and was given as a lavish wedding present from the Queen to William and Kate after they tied the knot in 2011.

The family frequently escape to the country from their Kensington Palace home in London, to spend time together in the private gardens on the estate. The country pile is located in the Queen's Sandringham Estate, and was gifted to the Duke and Duchess by the Queen following their wedding. It has ten bedrooms and a tennis court and a lovely airy glass lined garden room where the family often dine.

And in this heatwave, a massive bonus is the pool which can usually be swam in from April each year. According to some sources it is an outdoor pool, but understandably details about it are sparse.

The home itself underwent a massive £1.5 million refurbishment to update it into a comfy country pile. With a long south-facing front, the house is the perfect place to catch the summer sun.
