Sam Pio Shares How God Inspires Her Music, Upcoming Album & More Celeb Secrets

Posted by Jenniffer Sheldon on Friday, June 21, 2024

Budding entertainer Sam Pio may be young, but she’s already becoming the light for her generation.

The young talent began her career as a baby model in national print ads for well-known companies such as OshKosh B’Gosh and Vertbaudet. Fast forward a few years and Pio has grown a passion for acting and music.

Inspired by her faith in God, her angelic voice has led her to become one of the top young Christian artists in the world. Expected to drop her new album Be The Light later this year, which she tells us in inspired by her relationship with The Lord.

“The being who inspired me most was Jesus because He has helped me every step of the way on my journey through my career. This album is very special because it’s all original songs, inspired by God,” Pio tells Celeb Secrets. “God helps me write my songs. He puts the song in my mind, then he helps me put down a title and all my ideas about the song. Next, my songwriting teacher helps me polish it and my engineer, Jimmy Mac, creates a track for it and finally we record it.”

Celeb Secrets sits down with Sam (virtually) to learn more about her budding career, her relationship with Christ, as well as her upcoming projects and album. Keep scrolling to read our Q&A with Sam below and don’t forget to let us know what you think of her music by leaving a reaction below the post or by sending us a tweet at @CelebSecrets.

Celeb Secrets: You began your career as a baby model, what are your feelings as you look back at your baby modeling work?

SP: “I am so glad that I did my baby modeling because it prepared me for the days to come.”

CS: I notice you continue to model and you were on the cover of Global Elite Magazine. How did you feel when you saw the final cover?

SP: “I was SO happy when I saw the cover with one of my favorite pictures on it!! I truly felt in my heart that there were even greater things coming in the future for me and that God has a plan for my life.”

CS: Besides modeling, you’re an actress and musician. When did you first become interested in music and acting?

SP: “I have been interested in music and acting my whole life. I was born for this, my first words were a song. As early as two years old I couldn’t wait to get on the stage and I started performing in musical theater at age 5.”

CS: Your next album Be The Light will be released some time this year. Who inspires you as you are creating new music?

SP: “The being who inspired me most was Jesus because He has helped me every step of the way on my journey through my career. This album is very special because it’s all original songs, inspired by God. God helps me write my songs. First God puts the song in my mind, then he helps me put down a title and all my ideas about the song. Next my songwriting teacher helps me polish it and my engineer, Jimmy Mac, creates a track for it and finally we record it.”

CS: The Hope Channel will soon air your TV show Love at Work. Can you share what it was like on set and what your fans should look forward to?

SP: “It’s a biblical musical that will lead fans to remember scripture verses through songs. The musical has several well known Christian artists in it and I am the youngest.  I always love being on-set and getting to work with such talented artists.”

CS: You have worked alongside the Goo Goo Dolls in projects such as Amazon Prime’s first reality movie musical called It’s Christmas All Over Again. What was it like working with them? Do they give you any advice?

SP: “Singing with the Goo Goo Dolls was so much fun and a dream come true and it really taught me how much God has Blessed me through the years. But one of my favorite parts was signing the guitars for charity for St. Jude’s hospital.”

CS: You have done lots of charity work, which is absolutely amazing. How else do you encourage your fans to help out in their community?

SP: “Read your Bible and pray to God that He will come back soon and be the light. I encourage fans to be yourself and don’t let anyone shut you down because God loves you so much and wants you to have eternal life with him in heaven.”

CS: What advice do you give the young followers and audiences you have that admire your work?

SP: “Love God with all your heart, soul and mind and read your Bible and be the light for all to see.”

CS: What are your expectations for 2022? Are there any projects you are working on that you can share with us?

SP: “I have written 12 songs for my Be The Light Album so I am excited about recording them and making music videos. I plan on expanding my “Be The Light” Radio Show, that’s airing now on Salem KDAR The Word 98.3 FM.  I want to continue to grow my Live For Jesus Ministry and I dream of traveling around the world telling everyone I can about Jesus. I will be in St. Louis this June singing for 50,000 Christian leaders at the world conference so that is a good start. I just want to inspire others to share God’s love and light. I started writing my own film about it! So we will see.”

CS: Since we’re Celeb Secrets, what’s a secret (fun fact) about you that our readers would be surprised to hear?

SP: “Hmmm this is a tricky one. I think a surprising fun fact about me would be that I like to sing opera in the bathtub?”
